Answers: Why won't my doctor put me on maternity leave?

Answers: Why won't my doctor put me on maternity leave? I operate a machine (10 ft mill) and sculpt prototypes for a living. The job can be physically demanding, not to mention dangerous with obstacles on the floor to avoid. Bending, stretching, using heavy machinery, tools and working with polyurethane foam models and industrial modeling clay in the automotive industry. I wanted a month off before my due date and he wouldn't sign a waiver for it. He said typically 2 weeks is the norm to leave for maternity leave. I am pretty much useless at work now, and they don't have other things for me to do instead. He says he doesn't want me to get fired. I know they wouldn't do that. Why is he not giving up the paperwork? What can I do to convince him? Why won't my doctor put me on maternity leave?
